Derelict house of historical note in the ‘old’ part of town
This property was a derelict 2-bedroom house, located with the “old” part of Lyme Regis in Coombe Street. The property was bought at auction and was in a very poor state with the external walls deteriorating so bad it was deemed unsafe for entry.
The property was attached to a Grade II* and Grade II listed property at one end of the property and part of the building was built off a wall believed to be around mediaeval era of building.
We successfully negotiated planning and listed building consent to demolish the original building and replace on the same footprint (this was all our client owned!). We negotiated the party wall information alongside the Party wall surveyor.
The team got to work on the demolition which was carried out by hand due to the sensitive nature of the site. The new building was built using a timber frame built on site, due to limited access to the site. The building was completed with expert detail throughout with every area proving tight to gain access.
