A complex redevelopment with multiple dwellings
The brief for this site was to redevelop the former manor house, barn and surrounding grounds in to a modern residential development.
Located on the gateway to Charmouth, set within the AONB and UNESCO world heritage site, this sensitive site required careful design and implementation.
Through our development company and working with private investors, we successfully obtained planning permission and building regulation approval for the redevelopment and completed the project as the main contractor.
The scheme incorporated the conversion of the existing front section of the manor house in to four residential homes with associated gardens and parking. A later addition extension was removed linking the back wing to the front section, this made room to create a detached four-bedroom home with a contemporary new extension opening up on to a wraparound garden.
The existing barn conversion, converted in 2004, was remodelled and modernised from an owner’s accommodation to a stand-alone four-bedroom dwelling.
Between the existing Manor House and Barn, we obtained permission to build a modern five-bedroom family home with reverse level living to work with the contours of the site and make the most of the views over the valley.
